The 2022 season in the Spanish Autocross Championship was completed on the last weekend of October in Jerez de los Caballeros. The town in Extremadura once again hosted a national event after almost two decades of absence from the competition and although the participation suffered due to the fact that most of the titles had already been decided, the spectacle was of a good level and the presence of fans was very noticeable. For Speed Car, the final event of the campaign brought a new podium in the Junior category, achieved by Quim González in his Xtrem, while in Car Cross the best result was achieved by Alex Martínez, who finished sixth in his Wonder.
Three of the eighteen participants in the Car Cross category competed in the Extremadura event with Industrias Lahoz built models, and the two drivers of the new Wonder, Joan Salichs and Alex Martínez, got to the final.
Salichs arrived at the last race of the season with a good chance of reaching the runner-up position, a goal that was well on track after achieving the second fastest time in the timed practice sessions and a victory and two second places in his three qualifying heats, results that placed the Speed Car driver in third place on the front row of the grid for the final. Unfortunately, Joan was forced to retire on the fourth lap, when he was in the middle of the fight in the leading positions, and by bring classified in fifteenth place he finished third overall in the championship.
Salichs' withdrawal left Alex Martínez as the only Speed Car Wonder in the race, which the Mollerusa team rider finished in sixth position to close with a good result a positive performance that had started with the eighth fastest time in qualifying and a third place and two fourth places in the heats that took him to eighth position on the grid for the decisive race.
With the title already secured in favour of Pol Durán, this time it was his teammate Quim González who got the best result for Speed Car in the final round of the Junior Category. The young Xtrem driver was in the leading positions during the two days of competition and, after setting the fourth fastest time in the timed session, won two of his three qualifying heats although fifth place in the third sent him to fourth place on the starting grid for the final, from where he recovered a position to close the campaign with a podium in the last race and third place in the overall championship standings.
The already champion, Pol Durán, was third in the timed practice, qualified in fifth place for the final with two seconds and a fourth in the heats, and closed his magnificent season without taking unnecessary risks in a quiet fifth position at the wheel of the Xtrem with which he has added a new Spanish Championship for Speed Car..
