The Speed Car GTRs continue to be fully competitive in Categories 2 and 3 of the Spanish Hillclimb Championship. In the second race of the 2023 season, held on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th of June at the Subida a Les Revoltes d'Ibi, the three cars of the latest CEM model manufactured by Industrias Lahoz were among the main protagonists in both the CM+ and CM Promotion versions.
In Category 2, Joan Gil confirmed the good sensations he had left in his debut in the national championship at El Fito and once again imposed his Speed Car GTR CM+ in Class 8. In addition, the Andorran driver finished second in Category 2 of the Spanish Championship and sixth in the overall classification of the Alicante event.
Javi Rodríguez finished just one place ahead in the scratch table, and was close to another podium finish in Category 3 with his CM-Promoción Speed Car GTR. The Tenerife-born driver had set the second fastest time in the rainy race on Saturday, but on Sunday, in the dry, he couldn't find his rhythm on the initial part of the track, the most twisty part of the track. After being third in the second official race, he ended up losing a position on the last climb of the race when he almost ended up off the road at the exit of the crossroads that joins the urban part of the track with the ascent to the revoltes that give it its name. In the end, Javi finished fifth overall and fourth in Category 3, a result that moved him up to third place in the CM-Promotion category.
In his return to the Spanish Championship, Edgar Montellà completed the trio of Speed Car GTRs in the top seven of the absolute classification in Ibi with his Speed Car GTR. The Andorran driver also finished fifth in Category 3, just behind his PepMotor teammate Javi Rodríguez.
