The Goldspeed 2024 Spanish Autocross Championship came to an end on 5 and 6 October with the last race of the season in Mollerusa. Speed Car added a new title to its list of winners with the final triumph of Quim González, who took the victory and the championship in the Car Cross Series category with his Speed Car Wonder. Speed Car was also present on the Car Cross podium thanks to Ares Lahoz, who finished second with another Wonder made by Industrias Lahoz.
Thirteen of the thirty-six competitors in the Car Cross category took part in Mollerusa at the wheel of Industrias Lahoz models, twelve with the Speed Car Wonder and one with the veteran but still competitive Xtrem. Four of them qualified among the fifteen that made it to the A final, where the best result was achieved by Ares Lahoz. The Speed Car driver is competing in the European Championship this season, but she came to the national event as a preparation for the continental event that will take place next weekend in Lleida. Ares showed the magnificent rhythm she has acquired in the European Championship and was constantly in the leading positions, being the only one to win in her three qualifying rounds. In the final, the daughter of the Speed Car manufacturer finished in second position, fighting with her Wonder from one to one with the main protagonists of this season's Spanish Championship.
The next Speed Car at the finish line was the Wonder of Josep M. Vila, who finished the final in fifth position, two ahead of Pol Durán, who finished seventh, a result that finally gave him third place in the overall championship. The other Speed Car driver in the final was the Galician Sergio Suárez, who was involved in a multiple touch in the always frenetic opening metres of the race and was unable to complete the first lap.
Quim Gonzalez dominated the Spanish Car Cross Series after an overwhelming weekend in which he gave his rivals no chance in the fight for the title. The Speed Car Wonder driver was the fastest in the timed practice session, won his three qualifying heats and led from start to finish in the final to celebrate from the top of the podium the title as the culmination of a great season.
The other driver who has competed regularly this year in the Car Cross Series with a Speed Car Wonder, the Asturian Juan Manuel García Pandiella, closed the season with an eighth position in the A final in Mollerusa.
Two drivers competed at the wheel of Speed Car models in the final round of the Junior categories. Joan Aranda finished ninth in his Wonder after setting the twelfth fastest time in practice and starting from ninth on the grid in the final after being fourth, fifth and sixth in his three qualifying heats. Oriol Cabeza finished thirteenth in the Xtrem, with which he was eleventh in the time trial and thirteenth in the heats, in which he was fifth, seventh and eighth.
