LThe Spanish Autocross Championship Loterías 2025 started its 2025 season from 10th to 11th May at the Eduardo Lalana circuit in Esplús, Huesca. The competition in Huesca had Speed Car representation in four of the categories of the national competition and brought a new victory in Car Cross for the Wonder model thanks to Pol Durán as well as a very positive second place in “Buggy” for the TTR driven by Eduard Bañeres.
Mixed results for the two drivers who took part in Esplús in the ‘Buggy’ category with the Speed Car TTR. While Eduard Bañeres ended up on the second step of the podium after being the second fastest in the qualifying and starting from fifth position on the starting grid for the final, Igor Aguirrebereña, who had been sixth in both practice and the heats, was unable to take part in the last race of the weekend.
Fifteen of the thirty-nine participants in the always crowded Car Cross category faced the Esplús event with Speed Car models. Of these, four reached the final of the top fifteen, which was dominated, just like the timed session and qualifying heats, by Pol Durán, who scored full points at the wheel of his Wonder R. The next Speed Car at the finish line was driven by Josep Aranda, who finished fifth after climbing up positions throughout the weekend as he was thirteenth in the qualifying and eleventh in the total count of the heats prior to the final.
Just outside the top ten was local driver Jorge Fontán, who finished eleventh in the decisive race in his Speed Car Wonder after starting from eighth position, while reigning “Car Cross Series” champion Quim González had little luck in the final, being forced to retire three laps from the end after having started from seventh place on the grid.
Three drivers took part in the Car Cross Series competition with Speed Car Wonder units. The best in practice was Joan Aranda, who set the second fastest time of all the participants, while Jon Bikendi was twelfth and Anselm Llovera was seventeenth on the timesheets. On the other hand, Llovera achieved the best results in the qualifying rounds, with a sixth, a third and a second that gave him sixth place on the starting grid, while Aranda was tenth and Bikendi eleventh. In the end, it was the Basque driver who would finish ahead of the three in the final race, which would end in sixth position, with Llovera in twelfth and Aranda unable to reach the finish line as he had to retire on the third lap.
Three drivers competed at the wheel of their Speed Car Wonder in the first round of the Junior Category. The best classified was Oriol Cabezas, who crossed the finish line of the final in sixth position after having got the same result in the timed practice sessions and reaching seventh place on the starting grid after finishing fourth twice and third once in his three qualifying heats. Just behind the Catalan in the final was Hugo Fuertes from Madrid, who started from sixth position in the starting line-up and ended up being overtaken by his teammate. The third Speed Car driver in the category reserved for the youngest drivers in Spanish autocross was Saul Martínez from Asturias, who finished twelfth in the final after having been ninth both in the qualifying heats and in the total of the heats.
