The second round of the Loterías 2025 Spanish Autocross Championship was held on 15 and 16 June in Talavera de la Reina. The competition at the Cerro Negro track was not particularly favourable for the Speed Car drivers. The best result ended up being the fourth place in Car Cross to which Quim González was relegated after crossing the finish line in first position with his Wonder but being penalised for false start.
Speed Car was once again the most represented brand in the ever-popular Car Cross category. On this occasion, eight of the thirty-three participants drove Wonder and Xtrem models manufactured by Industrias Lahoz. Four of them also reached the final of the top fifteen. Three of them made it directly, with Quim González being the best classified throughout the weekend. After setting the third fastest time in the timed session, the Wonder R driver won his three qualifying heats and led the final from the start to the chequered flag. Unfortunately, a five-second penalty for jumping the start meant that he finished in fourth position. Two behind was Marco Matador, who went from strength to strength throughout the competition. The young Cantabrian driver was 20th in the qualifying session, fourth, third and second in his three heats, which placed him eleventh on the starting grid for the final and he completed the last race in sixth place.
Jorge Fontán finished tenth, improving by one position on his result in the opening round of the championship after qualifying for the A Final from the B Final, where he was third after finishing twelfth in the timed practice sessions and fourteenth in the qualifying heats. On the other hand, Pol Durán, who had started the campaign with a victory in the first race, had to settle for twelfth at the wheel of his Speed Car Wonder after a weekend that started very well but became increasingly complicated. The Catalan driver set the fastest lap in qualifying but three second place finishes in the heats sent him to fifth on the grid for the final and a rough first lap, with a contact and overshooting under braking, made him lose a lot of ground and prevented him from finishing higher than twelfth.
Speed Car had two representatives in the “Car Cross Series” category and, as in the first race of the season, the best classified was Iker Bikendi. This time, the Basque driver qualified seventh in the final with his Wonder after being thirteenth in the chrono and ninth in the sum of the qualifying rounds, in which he obtained a third place and two fifth places. The other Wonder driver in Cerro Negro was the Cantabrian Miguel Ángel Herrero, eleventh in the final after starting from the same position on the grid and having been twentieth in qualifying.
The only Speed Car driver in the Junior category was Saul Martínez, who showed an interesting progression compared to the first race of the season. If in Esplús the young Asturian driver had qualified twelfth, on this occasion he finished sixth after achieving the eighth fastest time in the timed session and third in his three qualifying heats, which placed him sixth on the starting grid for the final, a position he ended up occupying when he passed under the chequered flag.
