The 2026 Spanish Autocross Championship kicked off on 3 and 4 May in Esplús, with Speed Car competing in four categories and the Wonder model securing a one-two finish in the Car Cross. Victory went to Quim González, who finished ahead of his team-mate Pol Durán. There was also a Speed Car Wonder driver on the Car Cross Series podium: Joan Aranda, who finished in second place.
Igor Aguirrebeña kicked off the season at Esplús with a consistently strong performance at the wheel of his Speed Car TTR. The Basque driver set the sixth-fastest time in qualifying, finishing fourth, fifth and sixth in the qualifying heats, which secured him fifth place on the starting grid; he went on to finish sixth in the final, picking up his first points of the year on the muddy circuit in Huesca.
The Car Cross category saw a spectacular turnout for the first round of the year. Of the forty-four drivers who took part in the competition, eight were driving cars manufactured by Industrias Lahoz, and five of them made it through to the final of the top fifteen, in which the Speed Car Wonder was the most widely represented model. Furthermore, the top two positions in the decisive race went to the two Speed Car drivers who dominated throughout the weekend. Quim González secured victory to round off a perfect performance with his Wonder, having set the fastest time in qualifying, won all three of his qualifying heats and led the final from start to finish. Second place went to his Escudería Mollerusa teammate Pol Durán, who had backed him up in practice and also won all his qualifying heats.
Josep Aranda finished third in both the “chrono” and the qualifying heats, in which he secured two victories, but a mechanical failure in the opening metres of the final prevented him from continuing the race and securing what could have been an all-Speed Car podium. The next Wonder to cross the line was Aleix Costa, who reached the final via the B final and fought his way up to eighth place by the end of the eight-lap race. Another Speed Car, driven by Alfonso Fontán, also finished the race, coming in fourteenth after starting from tenth place and having been fifteenth in qualifying.
Speed Car was also represented on the podium in the Car Cross Series, a category in which Joan Aranda drove his Wonder to second place in the final following a race marked by numerous twists and turns and three changes of leader. Just outside the top three was Jon Bikendi, who started from sixth place and finished fourth in another Wonder, the same model driven by Anselm Llovera, who rounded off the Speed Car line-up by finishing in eighth place.
The Junior category final proved particularly eventful, with several incidents forcing a restart on three occasions, involving all three drivers competing in their Speed Car Wonder vehicles. Jaume Rivas, who started from eleventh position, Roc Pons, who started from thirteenth, and Saul Martínez, who followed him on the starting grid, were all forced out of the race without having completed a single lap of the decisive race, which saw them classified in twelfth, fourteenth and fifteenth places respectively.
