The Spanish Autocross Championship completed the first half of its 2026 season with its third points-scoring round on 11 and 12 July in Carballo. The first of the two Galician rounds of the national championship saw another victory in the Car Cross class for Quim González, who won for the third consecutive race in his Speed Car Wonder. He was joined on the podium in third place by another Wonder driver, Aleix Costa. Vehicles manufactured by Industrias Lahoz were also represented in the Buggy, Junior and Series classes.
Igor Agirrebeña competed in Carballo in his second round of the year in the Spanish Autocross Championship, in the category for the ever-spectacular Buggies – the most powerful single-seaters in the sport. Having finished sixth at Esplús and not competing at Cerro Negro, the Basque driver from Speed Car TTR returned to action at the event in A Coruña.
Igor set the eighth-fastest time in the qualifying session, finishing third, fourth and fifth in his three heats, which earned him eighth place on the starting grid for the final, and he completed the weekend’s decisive race in seventh position.
The Car Cross category contributed to the record turnout at the A Coruña event, with fifty drivers, seven of whom competed at the wheel of Speed Car’s Wonder model. Five of them reached the final of the weekend’s top fifteen, once again making the Catalan manufacturer the most represented in the competition’s decisive race. Speed Car’s success was rounded off by Quim González, who once again dominated the field in his Wonder. The Catalan driver set the fastest time in the timed session, won all three of his qualifying heats and led the final from pole position, staying in the lead right to the finish line to secure his third consecutive victory and extend his lead at the top of the championship standings.
Aleix Costa also made it onto the Car Cross podium, in a curious turn of events: in the previous race he had finished third but lost that position due to a penalty, whilst this time he finished fourth and moved up a place after the race when another competitor – his team-mate Pol Durán, who had finished second but was disqualified – was penalised.
The next Speed Car to cross the chequered flag was the one driven by Alfonso Fontán, who finished in tenth place, whilst the other Wonder driver in the final, Josep Aranda, was also disqualified, having finished fourteenth.
Speed Car was represented in the Car Cross Series category at Carballo by Joan Aranda, who once again scored a good haul of points in his Wonder. Having finished second at Esplús and eighth at Cerro Negro, the Catalan driver finished seventh in the final after setting the fastest time in the timed session and securing a third, a fourth and a fifth place in the qualifying heats, which placed him seventh on the starting grid for the final race of the A Coruña competition.
The three drivers who competed in their Speed Car Wonder cars at Cerro Negro in the Junior category returned to Carballo. On this occasion, the best result was achieved by Oriol Cabeza, who finished the final in seventh place after starting from sixth on the grid and having also finished sixth in the qualifying session. The next Speed Car to cross the finish line was that of Jaime Rivas, who finished the race in thirteenth place, just ahead of his team-mate, the Asturian Saul Martínez, who came fourteenth at the end of the eight-lap race.
