The classic summer event in Arteixo took place on 8 and 9 August and was the fourth round of the 2026 Spanish Autocross Championship. The competition at the ‘cathedral’ of Spanish autocross saw Speed Car drivers achieve their best result with an excellent second place secured by Josep Aranda in the Car Cross Series category. The Catalan manufacturer was also represented in the Buggy, Car Cross and Junior categories.
The category that features the most powerful single-seaters in national Car Cross saw a very impressive turnout in Arteixo, with a total of fifteen cars in action. Among them were two Speed Car models: Igor Agirrebeña’s TTR – a regular sight this season in the CEAX Loterías rounds – and local driver Felipe Lodeiro’s TTX.
In the qualifying session, Igor was the better-placed of the two, recording the seventh-fastest time, but he was only able to complete one of the heats and did not start in the final. Felipe, for his part, went from strength to strength over the weekend and, after finishing fourteenth in the timed session, secured a fifth and two sixth places in the qualifying races, which earned him tenth place on the final grid – a position he held right until the finish.
The Car Cross category was once again the most popular, attracting fifty-two participants to Arteixo. On this occasion, Speed Car had a smaller contingent, with a total of six drivers competing at the wheel of the Wonder cars. Two of them reached the grand final, with Aleix Costa finishing highest up the order. The Catalan driver was among the fastest throughout the weekend. After setting the third-fastest time in qualifying, he won one of his heats and finished third and fourth in the other two – results that placed him fourth on the starting grid for the final, a race he finished in that same position.
The second Speed Car Wonder driver to reach the final was Josep Aranda, who put in a very consistent performance throughout the two days of competition in A Coruña. Josep finished sixth in the qualifying session, secured one win, one second place and one fourth place in the qualifying races, and finished sixth in the final after starting from eighth on the grid.
Two Speed Car drivers took part in the Car Cross Series category in Arteixo. The highest-placed driver was once again Joan Aranda, who continued his very positive run of results in the CEAX Loterías series at the event in A Coruña. The Speed Car driver was the fastest in the timed session, won two of his three qualifying heats and finished second in the final after starting from that same position on the starting grid.
The other Speed Car Wonder in the weekend’s decisive race was the one driven by Anselm Llovera, who finished ninth after starting the race from fifth on the grid, having finished second, third and fourth in his three qualifying heats.
Three drivers took part in the Junior category of the Arteixo race in their Speed Car Wonder cars. Two of them, who had previously competed at Cerro Negro, made it through to the final, although this time they were less fortunate in the race that brought the competition to a close. The highest-placed driver was once again Oriol Cabeza, finishing eleventh on this occasion, whilst Saul Martínez from Asturias finished fourteenth once more, but was disappointed not to have been able to complete even a single lap due to an incident in the opening metres that took him out of the race.
